Bridge of Lions Temporary Bridge closed for 12 hours April 21st

ST. AUGUSTINE – The Bridge of Lions temporary bridge will be completely closed to all motorist traffic for 12 hours beginning at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening, April 21, 2008 and ending at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008.

This scheduled closure is weather permitting. Marine traffic will not be affected.

The closure is necessary to accommodate a large placement of concrete at one of the Bridge of Lions' piers. Motorists are advised to use the SR 312 bridge as an alternate route.

The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005. Completion of the rehabilitated bridge is expected in Fall 2009, excluding weather delays, and will be followed by removal of the temporary bridge.
