ST. AUGUSTINE – The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation Project team plans to close the north end of Dolphin Drive at its intersection with Anastasia Boulevard for approximately five days, from Monday, June 9, 2008 through Friday, June 13, 2008. The intersection of Dolphin Drive and Anastasia Boulevard is located at the South Davis Shores neighborhood just east of the temporary Bridge of Lions. Changes in the weather may delay the beginning or the duration of this activity.
This closure is necessary to accommodate milling and repaving of the south side of Anastasia Boulevard from Dolphin Drive east to just past Gerado Street. Milling and paving operations will also be performed north of Anastasia Boulevard on Flagler and Oglethorpe Boulevards, which have already been closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through alternate neighborhood streets while these areas are closed.
The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005 and is expected to last approximately five years, excluding potential weather delays. For more information regarding the bridge rehabilitation, please visit our website at www.FDOTBridgeofLions.com or contact Laurie Sanderson in the public information office at (904) 825-3647 or at info@FDOTBridgeofLions.com.
