Channel Closures November and December 2006 at the Bridge of Lions

ST. AUGUSTINE – The channel beneath the Bridge of Lions will be closed at night to marine traffic from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on the following dates: November 21 (one night only); November 27- December 1 (Monday-Friday); December 4-8 (Monday-Friday), and December 11-13 (Monday-Wednesday), 2006.

During each nightly closure, an opening may be provided at 2:00 a.m. upon request. Requests must be made to the bridge tender on Marine Radio Channel 9.

The closures are necessary to accommodate removal of the fender system and install equipment to rehabilitate the bascule piers at the Bridge of Lions.
