Channel Closures February 2007 at the Bridge of Lions

ST. AUGUSTINE – The channel beneath the Bridge of Lions will be closed to marine traffic 20 hours a day - from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on the following dates: February 12-14; February 19-22; and February 26-28, 2007.  

Openings will be provided during a two-hour break in the morning, 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m., and during a two-hour break in the evening, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Requests must be made to the bridge tender on Marine Radio Channel 9.

The closures are necessary to accommodate construction of new supporting columns for the Bridge of Lions piers adjacent to the channel.
