Northbound Left Lane of Avenida Menendez Closed for 6 hours Monday Night

ST. AUGUSTINE – Night-time closure of the left lane on northbound Avenida Menendez is scheduled for 6 hours from 11:00 p.m. Monday Night, May 4, 2009 through 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009. The closure will begin 80 feet south and extend 80 feet north of the intersection of Cathedral Place and Avenida Menendez at the foot of the Bridge of Lions.

This scheduled closure is weather permitting. The closure is necessary to place a new extension to the traffic separator on the roadway.

Pedestrian traffic will be rerouted to the nearest safe crosswalk or sidewalk during the closure.

The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005 and is expected to last approximately five years, excluding potential weather delays.
