ST. AUGUSTINE – The Bridge of Lions temporary bridge will be completely closed to all motorist traffic from Menendez Avenue to Dolphin Drive for 11 hours beginning at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, April 1, 2009 and ending at 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning, April 2, 2009.
This scheduled closure is weather permitting. The closure is necessary to accommodate a large placement of concrete beneath the Bridge of Lions' piers. During the temporary closure, the SR 312 bridge may be used as an alternate route.
The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005 and is expected to last approximately five years, excluding potential weather delays. For more information regarding the bridge rehabilitation, please visit our website at www.FDOTBridgeofLions.com or contact Rick Campora in the public information office at (904) 825-3647 or at info@FDOTBridgeofLions.com.
