Bridge of Lions Temporary Bridge closed for 12 hours December 16th

ST. AUGUSTINE – The Bridge of Lions temporary bridge will be completely closed to all motorist and marine traffic for 12 hours beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, December 16, 2007 and ending at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, December 17, 2007.

This closure is necessary to accommodate a large placement of concrete beneath one of the Bridge of Lions' piers at the channel. Motorists are advised to use the SR 312 bridge as an alternate route.

The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005 and is expected to last approximately five years, excluding potential weather delays.
