ST. AUGUSTINE – The Bridge of Lions temporary bridge will be completely closed to all
motorist traffic for 11 hours beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, November 20, 2008 and
ending at 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, November 21, 2008.
The closure is necessary to accommodate a large concrete pour adjacent to the temporary bridge.
The SR 312 bridge may be used as an alternate route.
This scheduled closure is weather permitting. The back up date for this closure is the following
evening, Friday, November 21, 2008 if weather or other unforeseen events disrupt the scheduled
Thursday night closure. Bicyclist and pedestrian traffic will have access to the sidewalk during
the closure.
The Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), began in February 2005 and is expected to last approximately five years, excluding potential weather delays. For more information regarding the bridge rehabilitation, please visit our website at www.FDOTBridgeofLions.com or contact Laurie Sanderson in the public information office at (904) 825-3647 or at info@FDOTBridgeofLions.com.
